Terms of Service
Please read these terms carefully before using LankaConnects
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using LankaConnects (“the Platform”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to these terms, you may not use the Platform.
LankaConnects is operated by LankaConnects FZ-LLC, a company registered in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years of age to use LankaConnects. By using the Platform, you confirm that you meet this requirement. Users under 18 are not permitted to create accounts or post content.
3. User Accounts
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. You must not share your password with anyone or allow others to access your account.
You must provide accurate and truthful information when creating your account. Providing false information, including a false name, email, or company details, is grounds for immediate account termination.
You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
4. Job Seekers
Job seekers may create a profile and apply for jobs listed on the Platform free of charge. By submitting an application, you consent to the employer viewing your profile, CV, and contact details.
LankaConnects does not guarantee employment. We are a marketplace connecting job seekers with employers — we do not endorse any employer or guarantee the accuracy of job listings.
5. Employers
Employers may post job listings on LankaConnects. By posting a listing, you confirm that:
- The job opportunity is genuine and legally available in the UAE
- You have the authority to hire for the role described
- All salary and benefit information stated is accurate
- The role complies with UAE Labour Law
LankaConnects reserves the right to remove any listing that violates these terms or appears fraudulent, without notice or refund.
6. Business Directory
Businesses listed on LankaConnects must be legally registered and operating. You must not list a business that does not exist, has ceased trading, or operates illegally under UAE law.
Reviews and ratings posted on business profiles must be genuine first-hand experiences. Posting fake reviews — positive or negative — is strictly prohibited and may result in account termination and legal action.
7. Classifieds
You may not list items that are:
- Stolen, counterfeit, or illegally obtained
- Prohibited under UAE law (weapons, controlled substances, etc.)
- Misleadingly described in terms of condition, price, or authenticity
- Digital goods, services that require ongoing delivery, or financial products
8. Community Forum & Content
When posting in the forum, classifieds, or anywhere else on the Platform, you agree not to post content that:
- Is false, misleading, or defamatory
- Harasses, threatens, or intimidates other users
- Contains spam, unsolicited advertising, or recruitment pitches
- Violates any UAE law or regulation
- Infringes the intellectual property rights of any third party
- Contains personal information of others without their consent
LankaConnects reserves the right to remove any content and suspend any user that violates these guidelines, at our sole discretion.
9. Payments & Subscriptions
Paid plans are billed in advance on a monthly or annual basis. All prices are in AED and inclusive of applicable UAE VAT.
Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled before the renewal date. You may cancel at any time from your dashboard. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period — no partial refunds are issued.
Refunds are only issued in the following circumstances: duplicate charges, technical errors preventing access, or where required by UAE consumer protection law.
10. Prohibited Conduct
You must not:
- Scrape, crawl, or extract data from the Platform using automated means
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the Platform
- Impersonate another person, company, or LankaConnects staff
- Create multiple accounts to evade a ban or suspension
- Use the Platform for money laundering, fraud, or any criminal activity
- Interfere with the Platform's technical operation or security
11. Intellectual Property
All content, design, code, and branding on LankaConnects is owned by LankaConnects FZ-LLC or its licensors. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without our written permission.
By posting content on LankaConnects (forum posts, reviews, listings), you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to display and distribute that content on the Platform.
12. Limitation of Liability
LankaConnects provides the Platform on an “as is” basis. We do not warrant that the Platform will be error-free or uninterrupted.
To the maximum extent permitted by UAE law, LankaConnects is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Platform, including any loss arising from employment decisions, classified transactions, or reliance on community content.
13. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your account at any time if you violate these Terms. You may delete your own account at any time from your account settings.
Upon termination, your right to access the Platform ceases immediately. Content you have posted may be removed at our discretion.
14. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Dubai, UAE.
