LankaConnects exists to empower the Sri Lankan community in the UAE by making it easier to find opportunities, access trusted services, and stay connected — no matter which emirate you call home.

We are a community-first platform built by Sri Lankans, for Sri Lankans. Every feature we build starts with a simple question: does this make life in the UAE easier for our community?

Our Story

LankaConnects was founded in 2024 by a group of Sri Lankan expats living in Dubai who were frustrated by a simple problem: there was no single, trustworthy platform where the Sri Lankan community in the UAE could find jobs, discover local businesses, post classifieds, or connect with each other.

Job listings were scattered across generic platforms with no community context. Sri Lankan-owned restaurants, shops, and service providers had no way to reach their own community. Expats new to the UAE had nowhere to turn for trusted advice on visas, tenancy rights, or where to find a good kottu at midnight.

“We didn't build LankaConnects to be another jobs board. We built it to be the digital home for every Sri Lankan in the UAE.”

We started with a simple jobs board and a business directory. Within months, the community was asking for classifieds, events, a forum, expert advice, and more. LankaConnects grew because the community needed it to grow.

Today, LankaConnects covers all seven Emirates and serves Sri Lankans across every profession, industry, and background. We are proudly independent, community-funded, and committed to keeping our core services free for everyone.
